Debra Mitts-Smith, author of Picturing the Wolf in Children's Literature, will share her research on the visual images of the wolf in children's books published in Western Europe and North America from 1500 to Present. She will consider the values and attitudes that inform the depictions of the wolf, and how the illustrations and photos of wolves in children's books impart social, cultural and scientific information not only about wolves, but also about humans and human behavior.
